NAWABSHAH, Dec 30: A man and woman were shot dead on the pretext of karo-kari in a village near Gupchhani on Tuesday.

Ms Saain, 40, widow of Abdul Hafeez Khokhar and Malhar Kalro, 28, were shot dead by the cousin of the woman identified as Ayaz Hussain Khokhar in Ali Bux Khokhar village.

The killer surrendered at the Gupchhani police station along with the weapon used in the offence.

The bodies were taken to the Nawabshah Medical College Hospital, for autopsy.

Later, the relatives of Malhar held a protest demonstration outside local press club. Wahid Bux Kalro, brother of Malhar, told journalists that Saain was mother of two and lived with her brothers after the death of her husband.

He alleged that her brother had eye on her property and agricultural land due to which he killed her and then kidnapped Malhar from his shop and also killed him to turn the double murder case into a karo-kari incident.
