ISLAMABAD, Dec 30: A civil society organisation here on Tuesday celebrated the birthday of orphans and destitute children to give them the feeling that they are also part of the society and have the right to have at least those pleasures of life that cost nothing.

Theme of the event arranged by the Payaam at the F-9 park was ‘Celebrating every child’s birthday'. The objective of the event was to involve the orphans and children belonging to the under privileged families in the activities that give them a sense of happiness.

The event was attended by MNA Anjum Aqeel and a large number of students from various educational institutes of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, volunteers and people from all walks of life.

More then 50 children aged between four to 12 years from the Edhi Foundation and different orphan houses were also taken to the F-9 children park where the ceremony took place.

They mixed with each other like members of a family and enjoyed every moment staying together. The children enjoyed their new experience of life and shared their joys with each other.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Aqeel said it was our prime responsibility to support and give feelings of love to these children. By organising such events, we can help in their mainstreaming with the children who enjoy all these privileges and make the unprivileged children feel special giving them a feeling that they are not alone, the MNA said.

“It is not a far goose cry to share such sentiments with have-nots, but what is needed is to inculcate national thinking in the society.
