KARACHI, Dec 29: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday announced the results of HSC part-I Humanities (regular candidates) annual examination-2008.

According to statistics, a total of 13,634 candidates appeared in the examination and 4,317 of them cleared all six papers. From among the rest, 3,145 passed five papers, 2,153 four papers, 1,685 three papers, 1,202 two papers and 932 candidates cleared one paper. A BIEK statement said that the marks sheets would be issued after two weeks.

BCom (external) exams

The BCom part-I and II (external) annual examination 2008 will commence on January 2, 2009, according to an announcement made by the controller of examinations, University of Karachi, on Monday.

The admit cards and programme have already been dispatched to the candidates and those who have not yet received these should contact the external unit of the examinations department.

Sindh Madressah

The Sindh Madressatul Islam will reopen on January 1 after the winter vacation, the principal of the institution said in an announcement on Monday.

He said that after the government’s decision to revert to the old academic calendar, starting April, there remained less time for preparation of the annual examination of lower secondary classes to be held in March. —APP
