CHITRAL: Candidates continue protest for jobs

By Our Correspondent

CHITRAL, Dec 27: Accusing the government of favouritism, candidates for the posts of dispenser, who have been on hunger strike for the fourth day, on Saturday vowed to continue their protest till acceptance of their demands.

Amiruddin, Ihsanuddin and other protesters said they had completed the dispenser course in 1992, but could not get a job in government or private hospitals.

They said that recently, a good number of posts were advertised by the health department but, according to them, merit was violated in the appointments and they were denied jobs.

They alleged that the higher authorities of the department were interfering in the matter to accommodate their favourite people.

They said they belonged to poor families and had no capacity to approach the health minister to invoke his “blessings”.
