MANSEHRA: Tractor runs over two women in Mansehra

MANSEHRA, Dec 27: Two women were killed as a speeding tractor trolley ran over them in Morbaffa area on Saturday.

Mahmain Bibi and her relative Bibi Begum were on their way to nearby spring alongside the road to fetch water but suddenly a speeding tractor trolley hit them.

The bodies of both the women were handed over to respective families after autopsy at DHQ hospital Mansehra. Sadar police after registering the FIR arrested the driver of the tractor.

MUHARRAM SECURITY: District Police Officer Akhtar Hayyat Khan held separate meetings with the religious leaders of different sects in Parain Kharabad area to maintain peace during Muharram.

Following the declaration of Mansehra district as highly sensitive during Muharram by the provincial government, district administration and police have been taking extra precautionary measures to avert any untoward incident during in the district.

Mr Khan visited Parain Kharabad and met with Sunny and Shia clerics and listened to their grievances and complaints and assured them to settle them.

DPO during his meetings with the religious leaders, he said that police were strictly following the guidelines and Muharram plan with its true spirit to narrow down the bridges between both the sects. “I am optimistic that both sides would respect each other. In hope that no instigating speeches would be delivered and a message of peace and harmony would be the first priority of Ulema and Zakirs,” he added.

Mr Khan said that personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) would also be deployed to maintain peace during Muharram.

He said that he and the district coordinator officer had already met with Ulema and Zakirs to maintain peace and harmony in Mansehra town.
