MIRPURKHAS, Dec 26: Coordinator of the Mirpurkhas chapter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Comrade Abdul Majeed Rajput alleged that ‘some people, who only appeared at the time of elections, are trying to dominate the party in Sindh’.
Speaking at a ceremony marking Nawaz Sharif’s birthday at a hotel, he said that these people had joined hands with PML-Q and attended public meetings of former chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Gen Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz.
Now they wanted to dominate the party through backdoor but he would not allow them to succeed, he said, adding that they were neither members of PML-N nor were their names on the members’ list.
He condemned those provincial and central office-bearers who were involved forming groups in the party.
Mr Rajput alleged that some party office-bearers of Karachi were busy in forming groups within the party and they were in contact with the rivals of Nawaz Sharif to prevent the party from becoming active in Sindh.
He accused the party’s vice-president Mamnoon Hussain of being part of the conspiracy and said that Mamnoon attended a workers’ convention here, which was organised by some so-called workers without taking into confidence senior party members.
Mamnoon did this to form his group, he said and added there was no party body in the district at the moment.
Sikandar Jhandeer, Zulfiqar Buta, Raja Tanveer and Waheed Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
