ISLAMABAD, Dec 25: A number of children representing different schools of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday presented folk dances, national songs, tableau, puppet show and on-spot paintings to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of Quiad-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Special children also participated in the programme organied by Pakistan National Council of Arts Council (PNCA) to pay homage to the Quaid.

The highlight of the performance was an overwhelming participation of special children who mesmerized a large number of people through folk dances and national songs.

The programme also included a puppet show that captivated a large number of students. The puppet show received warm applause from children.

APP adds: Executive Director PNCA, Tauqir Nasir appreciated the efforts of special children and said PNCA has been putting all-out efforts to promote cultural activities through children participation.

“Children and youth are the future of the nation as stressed by Quaid-i-Azam who has great hope and aspiration from youth,” he said.

He urged students to follow in the footsteps of Quaid to make this nation strong and prosperous.

He said unity, faith and discipline are the fundamentals of prosperity and youth must follow this message of father of the nation.

“We must show unity and fraternity to face challenges and to counter uncertainty,” he added.

Later, Tauqir Nasir distributed PNCA shields and medals among the winning students.

On this occasion PNCA also screened Jinnah to highlight and eulogize the untiring efforts of Quaid for achieving a separate homeland.
