KARACHI: Dawn staffer dies

KARACHI, Dec 25: A 58-year-old staffer of Dawn, who was injured in a hit-and-run accident last week on Sharea Faisal, died on Thursday morning.

M.A. Yaqoob, son of Mohammed Siddiq, a resident of House 53-A, Dhoraji Colony, was a senior assistant manager in the supplements section of the marketing department of the Dawn Group of Newspapers. He joined the organisation in 1987.

Mr Yaqoob leaves a widow and two sons.

His Namaz-i-Janaza was held at Habibiya Masjid, Dhoraji Colony, before he was buried in the Hasan Square graveyard.

Quran Khawani and Fateha Soyem will be held on Saturday for men from 9.30am to 10.30am at Habibiya Masjid, Dhoraji Colony, and for women from 3pm to 5pm at his residence near Rangoonwala Hall.
