KARACHI, Dec 24: Six ships including two cement loaders to load 32,000 tons of the commodity are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing at the wharves was fairly active where six ships including a rice loader, Andreas-K, were berthed on Wednesday. Others, which got berths included Arnis, Cape Negro, Isara Bhum, Northern Harmony to unload and load containers and B.B.C. Chile, to offload DAP fertiliser.

Sailing was also active as eight vessels, B.B.C. Chile, Isara Bhum, Cape Negro, Y.M. Improvement, Yick Zao, Quetta, and Swat, departed, while OBS Swathy, Nordana, Aina Aftis, T.S. Qingdao, Hanjin Port Adelaide, Bright Express, Hyun Jin KS-3 and APL Yokohama are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 87,484 tons comprising 41,546 tons of export cargo including 1,037 tons of rice and 6,517 tons of cement and 45,938 tons of imports was handled on Wednesday.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Blida and Red Sea Spirit to load 20,000 and 12,500 tons of cement, Dagmar, with 4,431 tons of steel coils, Noble Coral, with general cargo Hyundai Qingdao and Calvin P. Titus, with containers.
