KARACHI, Dec 23: Pakistan, once considered a force to be reckoned with in sailing, restored some of the country’s pride in the sport by securing a silver medal in the eight-nation Kingdom Match Race Sailing championship which concluded in Bahrain the other day.

Russia, which fielded two teams in the regatta, grabbed the gold and bronze medals.

Other participating nations were Switzerland, Poland, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar.

Meanwhile, president of the Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF) Saleem Ahmad Meenai has commended the team’s performance.
