Woman killed by in-laws

LARKANA, Dec 23: A woman was killed reportedly by her in-laws in Kando village near Warah on Tuesday when she refused to give them money, according to an FIR lodged by her brother.

Faiz Ali Khoso said in the FIR lodged at Warah police station that Hamid Ali and Mehar Ali had shot his sister Basheeran dead after she refused to give them money. Her sister’s husband worked in the Gulf States and sent her huge amounts of money per month, he said.

In another incident, one Khan Mohammed Juenjo fell victim revenge-killing in Karam Sariyo village in the Mahi Makool area.

The attackers shot Junejo dead when he was working in his farm.

According to area people, the murder was an offshoot of an old enmity between two communities.

ENCOUNTER: A head constable was killed in an encounter between police and alleged kidnappers in Faiz Mohammed Chandio village in the Mahi Makool area of Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Tuesday.

Reports reaching here said that police caught up with kidnappers near the village who had taken hostage Ghulam Serwar Khuhro late on Monday night from Malook Khuhro village.

The kidnappers traded fire with police in which Abdul Hameed Brohi, head constable, suffered injuries. He died when he was being taken to the Chandka Medical College Hospital.

Sources in police said that a dacoit identified as Nisar was also killed in the encounter. Re-enforcements had been sent to the area as firing between the kidnappers and law-enforcers raged on, they said.
