KARACHI: Inspection of ASF facilities

KARACHI, Dec 23: Defence Secretary Lieutenant-General (retired) Syed Athar Ali on Tuesday visited the Airport Security Force headquarters and academy where he inspected a demonstration by a special squad of air guards.

The defence secretary expressed his satisfaction and appreciated the professional competence of ASF in safeguarding and securing airports in the country. He hoped that in present difficult security environment the force would continue to perform its assigned responsibilities with zeal and efficiency.

Lt Gen (retired) Athar Ali also saw the working of under-vehicle inspection system, manufactured by ASF staff. He was briefed about the professional and administrative aspects of the force during his visit to the headquarters.

Earlier, ASF Director-General Brigadier Fiaz Ahmed Satti received the secretary defence on his first visit to the headquarters after assuming the office last month.—Staff Reporter
