Police claim arresting 88 kite-flyers

LAHORE, Dec 21: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested 88 kite-flyers and registered 80 cases against them under the Kite-Flying Act in different police stations.

The police also seized kites and string rolls from the possession of the violators.

According to the operations police spokesman, the City division police arrested 46 people and registered 37 cases against them in police stations of Shadbagh, Misri Shah, Ravi Road, Badami Bagh, Shahdara Town, Shahdara, Bhati Gate, Lower Mall, Gawalmandi, Naulakha and Yakki Gate. According to the break-up, 18 kite-flyers were taken into custody from Model Town division police, 12 from Iqbal Town division, five each from Civil Lines and Saddar divisions and two from Cantonment division.—Staff Reporter
