Body to assess damage

RAWALPINDI, Dec 20: The City District Government has constituted a committee which would investigate the causes of fire at the ‘Gakhar Plaza’ and assess the damages in its wake.

The District Coordination Officer, Imdadullah Bosal told newsmen that the Executive District Officer Revenue, Asif Qureshi would head the committee which would start work as soon as the fire was brought under complete control and rescue operation completed.

He said the committee comprised members from Shopkeepers’ Association of Ghakhar Plaza, police officials, Cantonment Boards and district government officials. The Committee would submit its report to the DCO. He said the rescue operation proved an excellent example of coordination between all agencies.

The District Administration led by DCO Bosal was present at the site throughout the day to coordinate the rescue operation.
