LAHORE, Dec 19: The second and final meeting of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Congress takes place at the FIFA Football House on Saturday.
The introduction of men’s inaugural National Futsal Championship and National School Football Championship are expected to be analysed at the meeting to be chaired by PFF President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat.
“The agenda features a wide range of topics, including discussions on the AFC and PFF competitions that have taken place in 2008 and those to come in the future, as well as football activities related to eight member associations,” said PFF General Secretary Lt Col (retd) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi who added that Congress will be followed by a press conference at 4.00pm.
Following the entrance of Pakistan in the third AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers, the 11th South Asian Games and Wapda earning a berth in the 5th AFC President’s Cup next year, the House will also be given an update on the current status of preparations for the coming assignments.
In addition, the members will receive an update on the preparations for domestic events including the Pakistan Premier League and the under 13, 16, 19 and 21 events along with the women’s club and departmental championships.
Reports on the AFC Challenge Cup, the SAFF Championship in Chinese Taipei and Maldives respectively, and the AFC U-13 Festival of Football in Iran and KL Friendly will also be reviewed.
Information will be also be provided on the various standing committee meetings that took place since the June 21 meeting of the PFF Executive Committee.
Finally, a number of medical and construction matters have also been tabled, such as those relating to MRI tests of players in age-group competitions and the Football Houses at Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta. Bidding procedure for the coming AFC events will also be discussed.—Agencies
