Inamul Haq storms into semis

KARACHI, Dec 17: Former Davis Cupper Inamul Haq continued his giant killing run in the ITF Seniors tennis championship at Delhi’s R. K. Khanna Stadium when he eased into the men’s singles semi-finals in 45-plus on Wednesday.

According to information reaching here, unseeded Inam, 51, pulled off second major upset when he knocked out the seventh seed Raveen Chaudhry of India 6-2, 7-5 to make it to the last four.He is drawn to meet third seed Rajan Beri of the host country in semis on Thursday.

Earlier, he had sent second seed Neland of India packing by handing him 6-2, 6-2 defeat in the second round. Inam’s victim in the first round was Jaspal (India) who lost 2-6, 2-6.

Inam has also made it to the last four in doubles with Indian player Nagraj.
