Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 17: Two ships scheduled to load and offload containers and edible oil were allotted berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Two more container ships also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday morning.

A total of seven ships, namely Maersk Deva, Hart Wig Scan, Gemini, Liparit, World Bridge, Torm Emilie and Addarraq are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, cement, project cargo, chemicals and palm oil, respectively, during the period.

A cargo volume of 36,699 tons, comprising 24,640 tons import cargo and 12,059 tons of export cargo, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,179 containers (TEUs), was handled at the port during the last 24 hours.

Three ships Maersk Deva, Hart Wig Scan and Addarraq sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning.—APP
