KARACHI, Dec 15: The cold snap that hit the city a couple of days back is expected to continue for a few more days, with the minimum temperature dropping to 13.5 degrees centigrade on Monday.

An official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department told Dawn that the maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 27.5 degrees centigrade with humidity – or the amount of moisture in the air – falling to 25 per cent.

He added that the minimum temperature on Tuesday was expected to range between 13 and 15 degrees centigrade. The met official said that a westerly low system was travelling from south-eastern Iran towards Pakistan and was expected to enter Balochistan on Dec 18. He added that it would cross over into India by Dec 20. In this period, rain was expected and it would be followed by a cold wave.
