Offices of three organisations sealed

LAHORE, Dec 13: Police on Saturday sealed four offices of Al-Rasheed Trust, Al-Ameen Trust and Al-Khair Trust and seized their literature during raids in the provincial capital.

A police official told Dawn the raids were conducted on two offices of Al-Rasheed Trust, which were sealed and police personnel were deployed there. Offices of Al-Ameen Trust and Al-Khair Trust were also sealed.

Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervaiz Rathore confirmed the raids and sealing of the offices.

He said the crackdown against banned organisations and charities was continuing in line with the directives of the government.

Lahore police have received five detention orders for Jamaatud Dawa activists and deployed security officials outside their residences, which have been declared as sub-jails.

They are for: Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Yahya Mujahid of E-Block, Johar Town; Qazi Kashif Niaz of Pak Block, Iqbal Town; Ameer Hamza of Al-Faisal Town, North Cantonment; and Qari Saifullah of Pindi Stop, Kot Lakhpat.
