One killed in US bank blast

WOODBURN (USA), Dec 13: A bomb exploded inside a bank in Oregon late on Friday afternoon after explosives experts arrived to check on a suspicious object. A medical examiner said at least one person was killed by the blast.

A spokesman for the Oregon State Police, Lt Gregg Hastings, said three officers were seriously injured in the explosion. But he said he would not discuss whether there had been fatalities. “We are not ready to address that question at this time,” he said.

West Coast Bank President and CEO Bob Sznewajs said that some bank employees might have been injured by flying glass but that none was seriously hurt.—AP
