MELBOURNE, Dec 11: England may have returned to India after the Mumbai terror attacks but Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke said he would have to think twice when considering signing with the cash-rich Indian Premier League.

Clarke did not join an IPL franchise this year and is yet to make up his mind about entering the Twenty20 event’s second season next year but said security was one of the issues he had to weigh up before signing.

“I have a lot of things to consider. Obviously I have to think about the amount of cricket we are playing, I am trying to plan a wedding as well and I have to think about what has happened there recently,” said Clarke.

“There is obviously a lot I have to consider, but I am going to play this Test series [against South Africa] and then I can sit down with my fiancé Lara and my family and make a decision. I certainly would love to be part of the IPL, but it is a matter of timing. If I am right to go I will look forward to that,” he was quoted as saying by The Australian.

Clarke was one of the very few available players in the world who did not rush to cash offered in the Indian Twenty20 event during last year’s player auctions.—Agencies
