Altaf sees anti-CJ plot

Published December 12, 2008

KARACHI, Dec 11: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said the country is facing grave threats but a few politicians, political analysts and media personnel are busy in making an issue out of some additional marks awarded to Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar’s daughter.

These people were trying to capitalise on the issue and trying to launch a campaign against the chief justice, a press release issued by the MQM on Thursday quoted Mr Hussain as saying.

“This approach is forcing the people of Sindh to think that a conspiracy is being hatched against a senior official from their province,” he said during a meeting at the MQM’s international secretariat.

MQM central coordination committee members Salim Shahzad, Tariq Meer, Asif Siddiqui, Mohammed Ashfaq, Mustafa Azizabadi, Qasim Ali Raza and members of the secretariat attended the meeting.
