SUKKUR, Dec 11: A police constable was gunned down by dacoits, at Mubarak Lakhan police checkpost situated in the Andal Sundrani police limits district Ghotki, on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to reports, police constable Abdul Ghaffar Soomro was deployed at Mubarak Lakhan police checkpost, when a group of armed dacoits appeared and opened fire on him and fled.
On receiving the information, Andal Sundrani police shifted the body to taluka hospital, Ghotki for autopsy and followed the footprints of the culprits, but failed to arrest anybody.
Neither the reason for the murder was ascertained nor any case registered till filing of this report.
YOUNG MAN KILLED: Unknown assailants shot a young man dead in Ruk town situated in the limits of Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station near Sukkur.
Mohammad Sabbir Shar, 24, was sitting at a hotel when three unknown armed persons appeared and shot him dead and swiftly fled the scene.
The dead body was shifted to a local hospital for legal formalities but no case was registered. According to area people the murder was a result of the ongoing bloody dispute between Shar and Khoso communities.
SHOT DEAD: Two men were shot dead in the Katch area of Ranwti police station near Mirpur Mathelo on Eid day.
According to details, two cousins Abdul Rehman Chachar and Sardar Ahmed Chachar were on their way to the Eidgah to offer Eid prayers, when they were intercepted by five unknown armed persons, who shot both of them dead and fled.
On information, Ranwti police shifted both the bodies to taluka hospital, Ubauro for legal formalities and on the complaint of Abdul Karim, elder brother of deceased Abdul Rehman, registered a case against five unknown persons, but no arrest was made.
According to the area people, the double murder was the result of an old enmity between two groups of the Chachar community.
ACCIDENT: One person was killed two others injured, in a road accident, near Rohri on Wednesday.
Reports said that Shoukat Ali Mirani, Waheed Mirani, and Mujahid Janwri riding a motorcycle were on their way to Rohri town.
When they reached near Rohri a fast-moving car hit the motorcycle. As a result of which, Shoukat Ali Mirani was killed on the spot and Waheed and Mujahid were injured.
The injured were taken to the taluka hospital, Rohri. The car driver fled the scene of the accident.
Meanwhile, a woman Mst Zarina, wife of Munawwar Korai, 25, lost her life after receiving an electric shock from a water pump, in Budho Korai village near Pano Akil on Eid.
