KARACHI, Dec 11: A Sindh Rangers mobile team arrested nine people allegedly involved in snatching of hides of sacrificial animals at gunpoint in Sohrab Goth area during Eid days. Weapons were recovered from their possession and the bikes they were riding on were impounded.

A press released issued from the Rangers’ headquarters said that some other people were arrested in Ibrahim Hyderi on the same charge. Three bikes, one repeatergun and one triple-II gun they possessed were also impounded.

Meanwhile, Sindh Rangers Director-General Maj-Gen Liaquat Ali has appreciated performance of his troops in maintaining law and order on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

Speaking at the Rangers’ headquarters on Thursday, he asked the force to show no leniency to anyone found violating the law.

He pledged that the Rangers would remain prepared to meet any emergency or calamity in order to provide safety and security to the people of Sindh, particularly Karachi.—PPI/APP
