GUJRAWALA, Dec 7: Around 1.2 million destitute families have so far been given compensation cheques under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Food Stamp Scheme.
Punjab Food Stamp Programme Chairman S.A Hameed said this while speaking in a meeting at the Circuit House here on Sunday.
He said that more destitute families would be given compensation on the recommendation of MPAs, including women and minority legislators, during the next phase.
Mr Hameed directed the administration to swiftly update the system of data-entry and verification of forms. Divisional Commissioner Khalid Masood, DCO Dr Pervaiz Ahmad Khan, EDO (Revenue) Nasir Iqbal Malik and district in charges of the Food Stamp Programme were also present.
APPROVAL: The Punjab chief minister has approved Rs140 million for students who will win speech competitions to be held throughout the province.
This was stated by PML-N’s former provincial education minister Barrister Usman Ibrahim while speaking at the certificate giving ceremony to students at the Government Muhammad Memorial High School here on Sunday.
EDO (Education) Riaz Ahmad, principal Munawar Hassan Javed and educationists were also present on the occasion.
