RAWALPINDI, Dec 6: City Police Officer Rao Muhammad Iqbal has directed all the sub-divisional police officers and SHOs of the police stations to ensure security on the eve of Eidul Azha to protect the life and property of citizens.

He issued these instructions while presiding over a high level meeting of police officers of the district. SP Operations Sardar Maqsood Ahmed, SP Saddar Ahmed Hassan Chauhan, sub-divisional police officers and

SHOs of urban areas attended the meeting.

The CPO asked the officers to ensure vigilance through patrolling and setting up pickets at important business centers and on roads and highways. He also called for deployment of the police in plain clothes at the markets.

The CPO directed the police to take action against outlaws involved in street crimes, car lifting and other heinous crimes. He asked the police to be alert and vigilant at various localities as many people leave their houses on the Eid.

He also called for police deployment at places where Eid prayers would be offered. The traffic police have also been directed to maintain traffic flow on the occasion.

He asked the officers to extend cooperation to the district and sub-divisional administration for implementation of the marriage ordinance and removal of encroachments in urban areas.
