LAHORE, Dec 6: The outstanding balance of the 17.50 per cent Punjab Loan 2008 will be repaid on a par on Sunday (today) and no return will accrue after it.

“The provincial government had floated Rs75 million Punjab Loan during 1997-98 fiscal for 10 years and after expiry of the term is repaying the principal amount as interest had already been paid,” said a finance department spokesman on Saturday.Loan securities are mostly procured by government departments and arrangements have been made to facilitate discharge of loan on due date.

Holders can tender their securities at the public debit office of the State Bank, treasury offices and branches of the National Bank conducting government treasury business throughout Punjab.

Details of the procedure for obtaining discharge value of securities could also be obtained from SBP’s public debit offices, treasury offices or NBP branches registered or enfaced for repayment of return with immediate effect, the spokesman concluded. — Staff Reporter
