GHALANAI, Dec 6: A jirga of elders of the Autokhel sub-tribe of Haleemzai held here on Saturday handed over three suspected persons to the Mohmand political administration.

The jirga, which was attended by a large number of tribesmen from the Haleemzai tehsil, assured the political administration of full cooperation in eliminating militant groups in their respective areas.

The Kamali Haleemzai tribe has already handed over seven suspects wanted to the local administration in various cases of militancy.

The political tehsildar of Haleemzai, Mohammad Miraj Khan, said on the occasion that the next meeting of the Haleemzai tribes with the political administration would be held on Sunday in which more suspected persons would be handed over to the authorities.

The Haleemzai tribes have so far given 55 suspected persons to the government.

Meanwhile, the Peshawar-Bajaur highway remained opened for all kinds of traffic from 11am to 4pm on Saturday.

However, residents complained of teasing at security checkposts at various entry and exit points by security forces.

They said trucks supplying flour to the agency also remained stuck at various points due to what they called unnecessary checking by the troops.
