KARACHI, Dec 5: Berthing activity at the wharves on Friday was on the higher side as port agencies tried to maintain the berthing schedules.

According to KPT sources seven ships, Bunga Teratai Dua, APL Topaz, Northern Harmony, Eric G. Gibson and Sima Yazd to unload and load containers and Urania, an oil tanker, and Red Spirit to load cement were accommodated berths. EVI to load 15,000 tons of rice arrived at the outer anchorage.

Meanwhile, seven ships carrying containers, crude oil and furnace oil are due to arrive on Saturday.

Three ships, Oel Transworld, Bunga Teratai Dua and Wan Hai-507 departed on Friday, while Eric G. Gibson, Ariana, Northern Harmony, Urania, Union Bonita and GH.&.H Tide are due to sail out on Saturday.

A total tonnage of 74,289 tons comprising 16,848 tons of export cargo and 57,441 tons of import tonnage was handled. The following ships are due on Saturday: Lalazar with crude oil, Gulf Tiger with furnace oil, Orinoco River, Martha Russ, Cap George, Seven Seas Aurora and Flag Investors with containers.
