MIRPURKHAS, Dec 4: Taking notice of illegal occupation of a land belonging to Government Elementary Girls College, Mirpurkhas, the district administration suspended a revenue official and issued notice to the alleged encroacher.

Some land-grabbers had occupied the vacant land measuring one acre and 20 ghuntas of Elementary Girls College, which was lying vacant adjacent to its boundary wall. The college administration had also written to Mukhtiarkar Taluka Hussain Bux Mari regarding the encroachment issue.

The representatives of different organisations also drew attention of DCO Mirpurkhas Abdul Rahim Soomro who directed the EDO revenue and district revenue officer to take action against the illegal occupation of college land.

Mukhtiarkar Mirpurkhas Mir Mohammad Khaskheli in his report submitted to the EDO revenue said that he had verified Deh Farm-II, Deh Khuth and also visited the site and found that the land in question belonged to Elementary Girls College, Deh 108, Taluka Hussain Bux Mari, but the then supervising Tapedar Mohammad Hayat Nohri, now working in Taluka Sindhri had wrongfully included this land in Deh Khuth and such statement was also recorded on page No 11 in the book of statement without keeping any voucher/deed on voucher file and produced the same before the then Mukhtiarkar for attestation on the basis of an old entry.

The report further said that these entries were fake and fabricated and liable to be cancelled. When contacted EDO revenue Mirpurkhas Mohammad Bachal Rahepota told that inquiry and action was being taken and notice had been issued to Salahuddin Shah, the alleged occupant of the government land. He further said that Supervising Tapedar Hayat Nohri had been placed under suspension.

Ms Rukhsana Sohail, principal of the college, said that one acre and 20 ghunta of the college was lying vacant adjacent the college boundary wall.

She said that in the past college administration had written a number of times to the relevant authorities to approve budget for construction of the boundary wall on the vacant land of the college. But only estimates were prepared.

She said that after encroachment of the land, the college administration wrote to the revenue department requesting to help vacate the land. The officers took notice and visited the site.
