Raise in dealers’ margin on petrol likely

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 4: Chairman Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA), Abdul Sami Khan said on Thursday that the petroleum ministry had assured him to put up a summary before the Economic Coordination Committee regarding increase in the dealers’ commission on petrol to Rs1.46 per litre from the current 75 paisa.

He said that a PPDA delegation held a meeting on Thursday with Adviser to the prime minister on Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain and senior petroleum ministry officials on this issue.

Sami said that the ministry had actually agreed to the demand for raising dealers’ margin. Now all depends on the decision of the ECC, he added.

Keeping in view of positive response from the government the association has decided to put off strike called on Dec 15 against the persistent fall in dealers’ commission.
