KARACHI, Dec 2: Playing with a handicap of five, former international Murtaza Qasim shot a brilliant two over par 74 to recapture the oldest golf tournament of the Karachi Golf Club (KGC), the Pritchard Cup, here the other day.
Murtaza’s net score stood at 69 in the contest played over 18 holes at the lush green KGC course.
This is the third occasion in the 120-year old history of the event that Murtaza has laid his hand on the trophy the other two occasions being 1967 and 1984.The keenly contested club tournament which attracted over 180 golfers was played in amateur, seniors, veterans, ladies and juniors categories.
The newly elected vice-president of the KGC, Sanaullah Qureshi, awarded the glittering cup and other prizes to the winners.
