Move to promote traditional items

KHAIRPUR, Dec 2: Measures would be taken for the promotion of dates, clothes weaved in Banaras Colony Khairpur, Sindhi Khes (a traditional shawl) made in Gambat and Sobhodero areas, rillies (a traditional bed-sheet) and other handicrafts of district and brochures as well as CDs of these handicrafts would be prepared for their marketing at national and international level.

This was decided at a meeting of district Community Development Department held here on Tuesday.

DCO Mohammad Iqbal Memon directed the EDO (education) to organise a Meena Bazaar for exhibition and promotion of all these handicrafts.

He directed the administration of Government Naz High School to organise an art and painting exhibition at their school.—Correspondent
