Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 2: Three ships carrying 2,155 (TEUs) containers, 6,000 tons palm oil and 64,337 tons furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal, respectively, while two more container ships also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at 60pc for the second consecutive day at the ort where a total of six ships, CV Maersk Montana, MV Super Star-III, MV Alex-III, MV Tanbinh-24, MT Moyra and MT Sea Sky, are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, sulphur, palm oil and furnace oil, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo handling operation was carried out efficiently at the port where a cargo volume of 78,989 tons, comprising 62,323 tons imports and 16,666 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo 2,155 containers (TEUs), was handled during the last 24 hours.

Container ship Maersk Montana and Edible oil M.T Moyra sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.

Two more container ships CV ACX Pearl and CV Ville-de-Aquarius are due t arrive on Wednesday.—APP
