ISLAMABAD, Dec 1: The government has formed a five-member sub-committee to review and amend Pakistan Cricket Board’s constitution.

An official of Federal Law Ministry told Dawn on Monday that Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek would head the committee.

The other members of the committee are Federal Sports Minister Pir Aftab Shah Jilani, Secretary Sports Ashraf Khan, PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and a regional cricket association president from Islamabad.

The official said that: “The sub-committee will purpose its suggestions for the amendments in the board’s constitution and we will complete it as early as possible and send it to the patron-in-chief for approval.”

The official, however, refrained from giving any time frame for the amendment in the constitution of PCB.

The committee was formed by Naek after some sport circles pointed loopholes in the board’s constitution while the powers of PCB chairman were also criticised.
