MITHI: 20 Arbab supporters join PPP
By Our Correspondent
MITHI, Nov 30: More than 20 supporters of the Arbab group, including two union council nazims and seven councillors, joined the Pakistan People’s Party at a ceremony held at the Circuit House on Sunday.
The defectors included Pilu council’s nazim Suromal, Virawah’s nazim Bherji Thakur, councillors Mewaram, Sawaimal, Misran Bai, Heman Bai, member district council Tharparkar Devji Bhil, general secretary PML-Q Nagarparkar Mohammad Hashim, Wali Mohammad Rahoomo, Harchandrai, Samer Singh Thakur, former chairman of UC Adhigam and Bhanomal.
MPA Sharjil Inam Memon said at a press conference that the party did not believe in the politics of victimisation and it had not taken any revenge on Arbab Ghulam Rahim who used indecent language against Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the party leadership.
When Arbab was the chief minister he spent a lion’s share of development fund meant for Tharparkar on his own villages and Autaqs on his blue-eyed supporters.
He alleged that Arbab Rahim kept Thari children away from education by opening several ghost schools and the present government was opening them up so that children could get education in their villages.
He said the chief minister had already declared Thar a calamity-hit area and he would soon visit district.
He claimed that Hamir Singh Sodho had also joined the PPP because of his efforts.
