ISLAMABAD, Nov 29: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned country’s various political leaders on Saturday and discussed with them the situation in the wake of the Mumbai attacks.

Those called by the prime minister Gilani included PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, PML-F’s Pir Sahib Pagara, PPP-S’s Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, PKMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Air Marshal (retd) Asghar Khan, Dr Abul Hayee Baloch, Senator Abdur Rahim Mandokhel, Senator Sajid Mir, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, Raja Zulqarnain Khan, Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan and former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

The prime minister took the leaders into confidence on the current situation. The leaders assured the prime minister of their support and cooperation.—APP
