IMF loan to fuel poverty, says Imran

By Amanullah Kasi

QUETTA, Nov 29: Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that International Monetary Fund’s loan will increase poverty in the country and add to people’s hardship.

Talking to reporters here, he said that economic development depended on reducing expenditure and increasing revenue.

He criticised the government for refusing to reinstate Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and other judges, and said that political parties supported judiciary’s independence when in opposition, but when they rose to power they wanted the “judiciary to be their slave”.

Mr Khan criticised the PML-N leadership for “sailing in two boats” and said they must play the role of a genuine opposition to force the government to restore the pre-Nov 3, 2007, judiciary.
