KARACHI, Nov 29: The chief secretary of Sindh has directed the EDO of revenue to ensure the possession of land allocated for the construction of low-cost houses under the People’s Housing Cell scheme for low-income groups in Deh Nagan and Deh Sarjani in Karachi.

He issued this direction while presiding over a meeting at his office here on Saturday.

Sindh Chief Secretary Fazlur Rahman was informed that a police officer performing duty at the Sarjani police station and a Mukhtiarkar were involved in grabbing of 100 acres of official land earmarked for low-cost housing scheme.

The chief secretary called the EDO of revenue and ordered him to ensure handing over of the land to the relevant department within a week. He asked him to submit a report in this regard. He warned land grabbers of stern action if they continued their activities.

He warned the government personnel of stern departmental action if they were found involved in grabbing official land or putting hindrances in government schemes.—PPI
