Gujrat chamber gets new chairman

GUJRAT, Nov 29: Javed Butt and Ch. Mohammad Nawaz of Shaheen Group were elected unopposed chairman and vice-chairman of the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GTCCI) here on Saturday.

Presiding officer Irshad Ahmed told Dawn that an annual general meeting would be held on Sunday to formally complete the election process of the chamber as was directed by the federal commerce secretary.

The Shaheen Group swept the elections by clinching 28 seats on executive committee out of the total 30. The former ruling group could secure only two seats one from associate and one from corporate class.
