Gwadar port will start working soon: Raisani

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Nov 28: The Gwadar port will be made operational as quickly as possible and local and foreign entrepreneurs should invest in the port, says Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani.

Talking to reporters after visiting the port city on Friday, Nawab Raisani said he had discussed the issue with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani who had assured him that the port would start working soon.

The port, he said, would open up a lot of business and job opportunities for local youths. He also said that he believed that the people of the province were the rightful owners of Balochistan’s resources.

Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority Admiral M. Ehsan Saeed briefed Mr Raisani on the progress of work and various aspects of the port.

The chief minister was accompanied by ministers of his cabinet and Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bhootani.

The chief minister also chaired meetings of the governing bodies of the Gwadar Development Authority and the Balochistan Costal Development Authority and directed the officials concerned to complete all projects in time.
