Pakistan wins first prize in Indian trade fair
KARACHI, Nov 27: Pakistani textile, spices, onyx/ marble, cosmetic products were widely recognised in India’s International Trade Fair-2008, said chairman, fairs and exhibitions committee of the FPCCI, Sheikh Farooq Ahmad.
Pakistan will also participate in International Trade Expo being held in Amritsar (India) from Dec 3 to 7.
A statement issued by the FPCCI here on Thursday said that Pakistan pavilion, organised by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India International Trade Fair-2008 concluding on November 27, at New Delhi was awarded the first prize and gold medal in recognition of being a partner country in terms of biggest pavilion and quality participation.
The award was received by Sheikh Farooq Ahmad from Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Power,
Jairam Ramesh at the conclusion ceremony of the IITF at New Delhi.
Pakistan Pavilion witnessed a huge crowd during the fair since its beginning from Nov 14. From embroidery to the kitchen (barbecue) the allure of Pakistan never failed to capture the crowd during the entire exhibition lasting for 14 days.
