Port Qasim

KARACHI, Nov 27: Six ships carrying containers, wheat, palm oil and furnace oil were allotted berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi -Purpose Terminal and Fotco Oil Terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Six more ships scheduled to load, offload containers, cement and palm oil also anchored at the outer anchorage of the Port Qasim.

A total of eight ships Norasia Balkans, CMA CGM Nilgai, ACX Dahlia, AI-Barella, Pearl River, Waffle Racer, Strilen and Stella were occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and furnace oil, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 87,649 tons, comprising 73,753 tons imports and 13,896 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo 11,882 containers (TEUs) was handled during the last 24 hours. A record discharge of 22,265 tons of wheat per ship per day was achieved on Wednesday.—APP
