KOHAT, Nov 26: Three people were injured when some armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a vehicle while passing through the Bosti Khel area of Darra Adamkhel on Wednesday, officials said. The injured were identified as Shaheen Badshah and Shahadat Noor of Karak and Qaiser of Kohat. They were taken to KDA and Liaquat Memorial hospitals.

In another incident, a rocket fired on a checkpost missed its target and hit a house in the Akhorwal area, injuring a woman, Yasmeen, wife of Taj Gul. She was taken to the Liaquat Memorial Hospital.

Security forces and militants exchanged heavy fire in Zarghun Khel, Sheraki and Bosti Khel areas late Tuesday night. However, there were no reports of casualties.

WAPDA EMPLOYEES: Employees of Wapda at a protest meeting held here on Wednesday demanded jobs for children of staff members who died while performing their duties.

Speaking at the meeting, Wapda divisional union chairman Younis Shah and secretary general Fauji Badshah said it was legal and moral obligation of the authorities to accommodate the children of the deceased employees.

They criticised the human resource department of Wapda for creating hurdles in the way of approval of jobs for the deceased workers’ children.
