MIRPURKHAS: Suicide attempt

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 26. Two youths tried to commit suicide on Wednesday, one by self-immolation and the other by consuming pesticide.

Qadeer Sehto-19 doused himself in kerosene oil and set himself ablaze in his home in Satellite town after a quarrel with his father Shabbir Sehto.

He was taken to the Civil Hospital in serious condition from and later referred to Karachi. According to doctors, the victim suffered 80 per cent burn injuries.

Shabbir Sehto, reader in the office of DPO Mirpurkhas, told reporters that Qadeer sprinkled kerosene on his body and set himself ablaze.

In the other incident, Mohammad Hashim Dars, 20, was brought to the Civil Hospital in serious condition as he tried ending his life by consuming pesticide.

DEMO: Paramedical Staff staged demonstration in the premises of the Civil Hospital on Wednesday in protest against the behaviour of a senior medical officer of cardiac ward with them.
