HYDERABAD, Nov 26: The Sakhi Pir police found the body of a goldsmith, Ahmed Sonara, who had been missing since Tuesday evening.

He left his shop for some work. When his family tried to contact him on his two cellphones, both were found switched-off. A problem had existed in cellular phones’ networks on Tuesday evening which made the contact more difficult.

The family informed police’s helpline, Madadgar. They searched him in hospital. On Wednesday morning Madadgar was informed about a body found by residents of Kumhar Para, Tando Wali Mohammad in the jurisdiction of Sakhi Pir police station.

A police team went there and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital. His motorcycle has also been found.

The body was wrapped in a chaddar tied with a rope. Initially the family refused to get autopsy conducted but then they agreed when persuaded by police.

There was one bullet wound on the right side of the deceased’s temple. The body was handed over to his son Faisal and his brothers for burial. No FIR has so far been lodged.

The deceased was a resident of Dahee Gali, Fakir Ka Pir.

He was member of the executive committee of Hyderabad Sarafa and Jewellers Group. Shops remained closed in the Sarafa bazar to mourn his death.
