4 officials feared kidnapped

By Ibrahim Shinwari

LANDI KOTAL, Nov 25: A deputy collector of customs and three other government employees went missing when they were going to Peshawar from Torkham on Tuesday.

The four are feared to have been kidnapped in the Khyber tribal region. They are deputy collector customs Karam Elahi, inspector Siddiq Akbar, computer operator Kamran Khan and driver Bhutto. They left the customs office in Torkham at 3pm but did not reach Peshawar. Their mobile phones were not functioning.

The political authorities have expressed ignorance about the incident, and said nobody had approached them to register a case.
