KARACHI, Nov 25: District West Champions Ghani XI edged past Hyderi Baloch 3-2 while Karachi Kickers gave Gulshan FC a 6-0 bashing in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Monday.

The first half saw Ghani XI having an upper hand when their striker Atif Ali scored in the 19th minute through a powerful shot which could not be stopped by Hyderi’s goalkeeper Murad Bakhsh.

This was followed by another in the 26th minute when left-winger Zia-ul-Rehman’s cross was converted by striker Gul Mohammad. Ghani led by 2-0 at halftime.

The second session saw Hyderi coming back into the game when their midfielder Ghulam Farooq gave a pass to substitute striker Nur Ali, which he was able to convert in the 63rd minute.

But then Ghani scored their third goal in the 73rd minute when right winger Naimatullah’s cross was beautifully headed in by midfielder Jamaluddin. Hyderi could only reduce the deficit two minutes before the final whistle when their left winger Shehroz Khan’s powerful try went directly into the goal.

In the second match, Karachi Kickers completely outclassed Gulshan FC by scoring three goals in each half with Gulshan unable to give a reply. The drubbing began almost immediately when midfielder Nur-ul-Haq scored in the second minute, followed by striker Fareed Alam (22nd minute) and striker Abdul Amin (44th minute) to make the score line 3-0 at interval.

The three goals in the second half came through Abdul Amin (48th minute), Fareed Ali (70th minute) and midfielder Mohammad Khan (74th minute).
