HYDERABAD: Sindh govt increases relief amounts

HYDERABAD, Nov 25: The provincial government has made amendments to instructions for utilisation of grant under “481-Relief Measures” for providing relief during calamities under section 3 of Sindh National Calamities (Prevention and Relief) Act 1958 by raising the amount for certain affectees and adding new beneficiaries, said Sindh Relief Commissioner.

This he announced through a notification adding that amendments to para-8 under “Relief Grants Ex-Gratia” envisage that Rs25,000 each shall be added to critically serious injury/permanent disability or loss of a limb.

The amount of Rs10,000 had been raised to Rs20,000 per household for reconstruction of collapsed pakka house with Rs5,000 added to Rs10,000 for the repair of partially damaged pakka house.

Similarly, Rs10,000 shall be substituted in previous Rs5,000 for the reconstruction of collapsed katcha house and Rs5,000 substituted to Rs3,000 for repair of partially damaged katcha house. Likewise, Rs10,000 each shall be added to the construction of damaged pakka shop and Rs5,000 each for reconstruction of katcha shop.

It further said that Rs10,000 shall be substituted to Rs2,000 for the loss of milch animal including cow, buffalos, horse and camel and Rs2,000 shall be substituted to Rs300 for loss of spring sheep/goat/donkey not exceeding Rs100,000 per family.

Similarly, relief grant of Rs30 each shall be added to the loss of poultry birds (all kind) not exceeding Rs50,000 per owner.
