LAHORE, Nov 24: The Lahore High Court on Monday suspended the termination orders of three officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), provisionally reinstating them till the final decision of their petitions by the court.
PCB general manager administration Javed Arshad Munj, general manager special projects Mohammad Pervez and PCB chairman’s personal staff officer Ahmad Anwar had filed petitions challenging the notifications of their dismissal from service by PCB early this year.
They alleged that the PCB terminated them without serving any show-cause notice and conducting enquiry further adding that no allegations were raised against them in the termination letters.
The counsel for the PCB submitted that the petitioners were dismissed from services on the recommendations of a well reputed chartered accountant firm and the PCB ad hoc committee also approved these recommendations.
The petitioners prayed the court to declare the PCB’s notification illegal and reinstate them till the final decision on their petitions.
Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi after hearing the arguments by the parties, suspended the operation of the PCB’s notification regarding the termination orders till the final decision on the petitions.—APP
